I'am Still Reminded of The After Math of Sandy

I

Although my family and my neighborhood did not suffer as much as other neighborhoods did. This tree didn't make it. It is still lying here in front of my building as a reminder of what Hurricane Sandy has done. Everyday I see this tree and I can't help but feel sorry for it. I actually feel sad when I see it and that is everyday. I think it's sort of  a shock for my brain to actually wraparound the thought that a tree can be brought down by mother nature and to actually see it is like WOW! I just didn't expect it.  I think this tree added some beauty to the neighborhood with it's beautiful burgandy colored leaves and when ever they do come and take it away I know I will miss it. It also reminds me of how much other people are still suffering from the after math of Sandy. So I'am grateful that this tree is still here because it is helping me to remember what I should be grateful for. Thank you.

Hostess Closing Down!

No more Twinkies, say it ain't so! I just found out that hostess is closing down. No more Twinkies, cupcakes, Wonder Bread! I can't believe it. If this happens about 18,000 workers will lose their jobs. I shutter to think about this with the Holidays coming. I feel so sorry for all those workers. My prayers go out to the workers and their families.

Dinner is Ready!

I have finally finished dinner! To my surprise my children enjoyed it. You have to understand they are so picky. The steak is not burned on the edge it looks like it in the picture not true. The cabbage is mixed with red cabbage and carrots.

Cooking

I'am on the PTA at my son's school I'am the President. Tomorrow we are having a Teacher's Luncheon and it includes school staff as well. Everyone has to bring in a dish. I'am bringing in hot wings but for some reason  I'am so tired today I  didn't even feel like making the hot wings.  A promise is a promise so finally they are in the oven! Not only do I have the hot wings on I'am cooking dinner for the family. As a single parent I have to do what I have to do I have nobody else here to help me. I'am making steak, mashed potatoes and cabbage for dinner tonight! What are you making for your family?

Thanksgiving Shopping

I have done some Thanksgiving shopping today. I didn't get everything, I'm not having a whole bunch of people over. Just the intermediate family. My children look forward to Thanksgiving because of the food that we usually don't eat on an everyday basis. Like the baked macaroni and cheese! Yummy! Have you started your shopping yet?

Parent- Teacher Conference

So Parent-Teacher conference was yesterday for my youngest son. I have already gone for my daughter she is in High School she is doing well in school so far. I love the fact that she is in a small school she can get more help if needed. Anyway back to my youngest I have to say I'am pleased that he is doing well in school.  I'am very proud of  all  my children. It is always a pleasure to go see their teachers they all seem to be focused on the children's best interest and to me that is all that matters.
